Typical alarm systems consist of one or more keypadsto set and unset the system usually placed at main entrances and main bedrooms in houses, magnetic door contacts, infrared PIR motion sensors to detect any movement in the premises when the alarm is alarmed, internal and external sirens, a battery backup unit (allowing the alarm to work as normal in the event of a power cut), optional smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and optional panic buttons, all these somponents are connected to a main control unit. When leaving the building a code is entered into the keypad and after a preset amount of seconds the system will be armed. Any intrusion to the property will be picked up by the detectors which sounds the alarm and notifies our 24Hour control room who then contact the nominated keyholders and if necessary the emergency services.
